Intrepid Girls Lacrosse Club

Board of Directors

John Bonaroti

John is one of the founding board members of the Club and is the only President to date. His passion for lacrosse started with seeking out developmental opportunities for his daughter Jillian and when there were not many opportunities around Pittsburgh to embrace, he pursued the creation of Intrepid. He is most proud of establishing a firm foundation for the club to always be a not-for-profit club with absolute focus on lacrosse development for the girls. In addition to serving Intrepid, John is a past President of Wagner House Center for Children, for which he was recognized as a Jefferson Award winner in 2009.

Becky Luzier

Becky began her career with Intrepid in 2007 as a Coach for the HS Elite teams and was hired in early 2008 as Intrepid’s first full-time director.  Under her leadership, the club has grown in size and variety of offerings, and the travel programs have expanded to include optional tourneys in Chicago, Florida, and California.  Becky retooled the recruiting program and the first class to experience this new approach, the 2013 class, saw 16 players go on to play at the college level with 8 of them seeing Division 1 playing time thus far.  The addition of Intrepid indoor teams and the Intrepid Team camp have also contributed to a higher-level experience for our members.

Becky is a 13 year coaching veteran and is the Head Coach at Bethel Park HS and the owner of Winner’s Edge Lacrosse, the area’s most comprehensive lacrosse programming company.  Becky is also the founder and past President of the Western PA Girls Lacrosse Coaches Association and has served as the Vice-President of the Pittsburgh Lacrosse Foundation and a member of the USLacrosse All-American Committee. Becky has been a featured speaker at the USLacrosse Convention on the subject of Program Management.
